Congressman Brown Hosts Manufacturers Round Table Discussion at Our Factory

Congressman Brown Visit

Thompson Creek Window Company. Family owned. In business since 1980. Locally operated in Maryland. Designs, builds, and installs. Provides jobs for over 450 employees. Thompson Creek knows the DMV area, and thanks to our loyal customers we've grown into the one of the region's top manufacturers.

So when you're a local company with over 37 years of helping residents with their home improvement needs, you become kind of an expert. And when you're a respected authority in your field, people turn to you for advice.

Case in point: Congressman Anthony G. Brown, of Maryland's Fourth Congressional District, recently asked Thompson Creek for assistance. Congressman Brown is committed to strengthening the U.S. and Maryland’s economy and providing opportunities for residents. He asked Thompson Creek to host a Manufacturing Roundtable discussion on issues challenging U.S. manufacturing companies and the successes manufacturers experience in today’s economy.

After Congressman Brown and his staff received a private factory tour that showcased our workmanship and our commitment to quality products, we hosted over 20 local manufacturers for a roundtable discussion regarding how Congressman Brown and his staff can assist our industry with our current challenges and plans for future expansion.

We were honored when Congressman Brown's office reached out to us. And it's remarkable to reflect back to our humble beginnings and see how far we've come. In 1980, when Rick Wuest's dad founded the company, it was located in Annapolis, Maryland, and the family lived in the apartment above the factory. 17 years later, they moved across the Bay to Stevensville to a new 20,000 square foot facility. Today, Thompson Creek is at home in their brand new, state-of-the-art, 117,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Upper Marlboro.

Thompson Creek has been the recipient of many awards and industry recognition. Recent and notable awards include Top 100 Manufacturers from Window & Door magazine every year since 2010, Angie's List Super Service Award, appearances on Qualified Remodeler magazine's annual list of top 500 remodelers in the United States, the Guildmaster Award with Distinction for exceptional customer service for the last four years, as well as many local Reader's Choice awards. Thompson Creek was also recognized as Window & Door magazine's Dealer of the Year.

Congressman Brown is the latest in a string of distinguished political leaders who have honored Thompson Creek by recognizing our leadership in manufacturing, construction, and business. We are the experts that policy makers consult to determine how their legislation will affect companies and their employees.
